Are you a seafood fanatic? The Little Miss Wanderfuls (a.k.a. B, Fritchie, Jas and Shar) sure are! We had heard that Boston has several excellent seafood restaurants and that increased our excitement for our trip. Among the four of us, I was the only one who’s from the side of the world where fresh seafood is hard to come by. So, I was the most eager “kiddo."
With so many things to see and do in Boston, the hectic itinerary certainly built up our appetite. Little Miss Wanderfuls' trip to Boston wouldn’t be complete without a lobster dinner at Yankee Lobster Co., one of the famous seafood restaurants in the US.
The place was packed when we got there but we managed to grab a corner table after a 5-minute wait. Although we were exhausted and starving, we could hardly contain our excitement while waiting for our orders. We kept ourselves entertained taking in our surroundings and watching people “fight” with their lobsters. My eyes lit up when I saw a bottle full of vinegar on our table! Oh yeah! :DIt’s weird, but it’s my go to dip for almost everything. :p
The service was pretty fast despite the long queue of people ordering. The space is limited and from the looks of it, most people opt for carry-out. Once our food was served, we stopped chatting and immediately switched to “lobster attack” mode. I was used to the old method of cracking the shell (hitting it with a stone or hammer) that I was a bit clueless on how to use the “cracker”. Shar did show us the way and then we were all good! :D
I had a great time cracking and most of all, eating the lobster and dipping in a vinegar (andenjoying a few sips of straight vinegar, hush hush!) The family seated next to our table was probably wondering how four tiny ladies demolished the lobster in split seconds. Their amazed and horrified expressions were priceless. Ha!
The verdict is in, Yankee Lobster Co. served the tastiest lobster that I’ve ever had. Yum yum! The price was well worth it!
Now, I need dessert. Boston cream pie, anyone? :D
